YOUR JOB

As General Manager, you are responsible for ensuring the smooth running of your establishment. Your duties include, amongst other things:

• Supervising the work of external contractors

• Weekly hotel and room inspections

• Covering individual shifts where necessary

• Postal mail processing

• F&B stock-taking (once at the end of the month)

• Monitoring and ensuring adherence to the cost budget (particularly the staff costs budget)

• Welcoming groups and informing them of house rules

• Drawing up and adhering to the maintenance plan

• Monthly review of company figures

• Monitoring compliance with and training on safety regulations (HACCP) and the standards set by A&O

• Benchmarking, its evaluation and implementation within the hotel

• Supporting the reservations, sales and yield departments (regional clients, institutions and key events)

• Daily (or at most every two days) settlement and deposit at the bank

• Initiating and monitoring all measures to maintain and enhance quality and guest satisfaction (complaints management)

• Keeping contact details up to date (liaising with public authorities and regional networks)

YOUR PROFILE

• you have completed an education in the field of tourism, hospitality, business administration or a related area

• ideally you have already gained some work experience in the hotel, catering, airline or cruise sectors

• are proactive and independent

• are (not only geographically) flexible

• have a managerial mindset
