YOUR JOB
As General Manager, you are responsible for ensuring the smooth running of your establishment. Your duties include, amongst other things:
Supervising the work of external contractors
Weekly hotel and room inspections
Covering individual shifts where necessary
Postal mail processing
F&B stock-taking (once at the end of the month)
Monitoring and ensuring adherence to the cost budget (particularly the staff costs budget)
Welcoming groups and informing them of house rules
Drawing up and adhering to the maintenance plan
Monthly review of company figures
Monitoring compliance with and training on safety regulations (HACCP) and the standards set by A&O
Benchmarking, its evaluation and implementation within the hotel
Supporting the reservations, sales and yield departments (regional clients, institutions and key events)
Daily (or at most every two days) settlement and deposit at the bank
Initiating and monitoring all measures to maintain and enhance quality and guest satisfaction (complaints management)
Keeping contact details up to date (liaising with public authorities and regional networks)
YOUR PROFILE
you have completed an education in the field of tourism, hospitality, business administration or a related area
ideally you have already gained some work experience in the hotel, catering, airline or cruise sectors
are proactive and independent
are (not only geographically) flexible
have a managerial mindset
